When Life Give You Lemons...

A summer well spent

Harry Hardy (left) and Archie Hardy (right) share lemonade proceeds with John Dudley.

This past summer between Canada Day and Labour Day, 14-year-old Harry Hardy and his brother Archie, 11, decided to raise funds towards the maintenance of our Village Trail System.

They set up a lemonade stand at the Sunset trailhead every weekend and hand squeezed at least 250 lemons, resulting in a zesty and refreshing lemonade which was much appreciated by many a thirsty hiker.

They were very conscious of where they were working and made sure there was no garbage left behind at the end of the day.

The result of their hard work was a cheque for $408, which they presented to me today.

They are to be congratulated for their initiative and commitment, and the Trailblazers (Lions Bay's volunteer crew) are delighted that they chose to support our work on the trails.

Thanks to Harry and Archie for your hard work! And thanks to the trailblazers who keep our trails walkable!
