Tap Into The Watershed

The many ways to connect with your community

The Watershed has been Lions Bay's independent community news outlet since our first post went out in January of 2023. Since that time we have tackled news stories from up and down the Sea to Sky corridor, shining a light on local success stories, showcasing the contributions of local writers and engaging readers from around the world.

More people read The Watershed on their phones than on all the other devices combined. To that end, as we continue to grow and evolve, we invite you to follow us on the social media platform of your choice.

We waved goodbye when the little blue bird became the big black X, and are now enjoying sunnier climes on both Bluesky and Mastodon. We'd love to see you there!

For those who prefer old school, you can find us on Facebook, and also on Instagram.

We welcome your engagement, and we are deeply grateful for our small group of subscribers, whose support means that our work can remain widely available.

Wherever you find us online, please consider supporting The Watershed — your grassroots connection to Lions Bay area news and views.

And thank you for reading!

When I observe what is happening to journalism generally (and most local news coverage in particular), I feel so fortunate to be living in Lions Bay, where we have the luxury of independent, skilled journalism available to us through The Watershed.

Karen, the time and professionalism that you put into covering issues and events in our community (with detailed fact checking in the process) is deeply appreciated.
