Final site cleanup to commence this week

Cleanup of the site of December's deadly landslide site is almost complete, however the state of local emergency imposed in its aftermath been extended to February 23.
According to Chief Administrative Officer Ross Blackwell, the final job remaining is the removal of the debris from the house of Barbara and David Enns, whose home was destroyed in the December 14 event.
On Monday, Blackwell told The Watershed that a contractor has been secured to undertake this portion of the cleanup effort, and that security guards will no longer be in place on the site. Instead barriers and signage will be erected to keep people off the property.
Crystal Falls Road is now open, as is the full length of Centennial Trail to hikers.
Blackwell also said that once the home-debris cleanup, which is scheduled to begin "toward the end of this week" is complete, there is no further work expected to take place in the area.
