Plant, craft and bake sale supports animals in need

Who knew you could fill your garden beds and support the SPCA at the same time?
This Saturday, the West Vancouver branch of the BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is having their annual spring sale. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their location on Pound Road near Ambleside.
It's the perfect chance for you to enjoy a sunny Saturday near the beach while helping support this worthy organization.
This event has been running for more than ten years, with a goal of increasing community awareness and involvement with the West Vancouver SPCA.
Shelter manager Sarah Henderson says there will be baking, crafts and bedding plants donated by Maple Leaf Garden Centre, all available for purchase, with every dollar going to support the needs of their animals.
"In addition to plants from Maple Leaf Garden Centre, we'll have lots of baked goods including doughnuts donated by Goldie's in Horseshoe Bay," says Henderson.
"We also have crafted items donated from the West Van Pottery club, and from local knitting and crocheting groups. There'll be handmade soap and jam and lots more."
The West Van location is one of 31 SPCA animal shelters in the province that look after the needs of animals until they can be adopted into a new home. You can learn more HERE.

Karen, deepest thanks for giving much needed support for the BCFSA. As a society we depend on the BCFSA to protect our animal population from neglect, abuse, and other unfortunate circumstances. Contrary to a common misconception, the work is done without financial support from government. The animals depend solely on our support as individuals.
