Seagull Sunday

Remembering another Dragon Year

Way back at the turn of the century, local bard Bill Kimmett penned this homage to the spring festival, which was also a Year Of The Dragon.

The Seagull, page 17, volume 10, issue 2, February, 2000.

More specifically, 2020 was the Year of the Gold Dragon (this year's element is Wood). Dragon Dance (as seen here) was just one of Bill's many poems published in The Seagull, Lions Bay's community newspaper for many years. It is a wonderful memory of Dragon years past.

Thanks again, Bill and a happy Lunar New Year to all!

Good memories elicited here, Karen,--of Dragon Years past, of the Seagull, which we enjoyed for many years, and of Bill who was known to us oldies as the Bard of Lions Bay.
