Committee still seeking trumpeter

Planning for this year's Remembrance Day service is proceeding apace, with the event set to begin just before 11 a.m. on November 11 at the Village Hall.

However, according to committee member Trudi Luethy, the organizers have hit a bit of a snag.

"We are looking for a trumpeter to play The Last Post and Reveille,," she says, noting the pieces come before and after the usual two minutes of silence. "Unfortunately, due to unavailability we have not been able to get a commitment from our usual sources."

Luethy says the committee planning the event are hoping to get a volunteer in place as soon as possible.
