Lending a Holiday Hand

Discarded bottles and cans can make a difference

Entertaining around holiday time can mean your blue bins of recyclables can fill up more quickly than usual.

A reminder that Lions Bay resident (and former Mayor) Douglas Miller collects recyclable cans and bottles on behalf of "John", a long-time neighbour who makes his home outdoors, just outside the municipal boundary.

John has spent the last 25 years collecting garbage along the Sea to Sky, and Miller says he deeply appreciates the support of Lions Bay residents, particularly when the weather gets colder.

Recyclable cans and bottles can be bagged up and dropped at 229 Bayview Road, where Miller will ensure they are passed on to John.

One small act of kindness can make a big difference to this deserving local resident.

John is our "one of a kind friend" that has made quite an impact on Lions Bay residents.

Thank you for your support. It is much appreciated, and caring.

Your kindness is making an impact on John's well being.

Thank you Douglas and Karen for being the messengers.
