Squamish Food Bank needs your support

It's the most wonderful time of the year – if you're not hungry.

Families who rely on school food programs often have to turn to food banks for support in the summertime, which is traditionally the season when donations fall away.

At the Squamish Food Bank, monetary donations go towards supplementing the Food Rescue program by purchasing staple items such as milk, eggs, peanut butter, beans, and fresh produce.

"This ensures that everyone in our community has access to fresh and healthy food," says Genevieve, who has helped organize the program this year. "Filling these gaps provides a lifeline for families, especially during the summer when school is out. Without access to school food programs and facing the added cost of summer childcare, these families depend on us more than ever."

The Squamish Food Bank relies on public support to make this possible.

To donate, scan the QR code with a smartphone camera (or type https://bcvfd.foodbank.bc.ca/team/249/154 into a browser).

Questions can be directed to Genevieve at foodhubguest@shhs.ca.
