Buy BC: Time For A Tipple

Writer: kc dyerkc dyer

We're a province with spirit(s) to spare

Home to some of the finest wineries in Canada, BC is a paradise for those who love the fermented grape.

The number of fantastic wines are too many to mention here, but if you'd like a pretty comprehensive list, you can find it HERE, courtesy of the Wine Growers of British Columbia (WGBC).

Not quite as ubiquitous as the wine growers, the craft beer manufacturers around the province are just as popular. Again, they are legion, but a list of more than 220 of them is available HERE, from the BC Craft Breweries Association.

But perhaps you didn't know that a wide range of other home-grown spirits are also available in this province.

Odd Society Spirits is an indie distillery in East Van that produces small batches of whisky and gin.

And bourbon lovers need look no further than the award-winning Okanagan Craft Distillery, which also offers spirits including liqueur, absinthe and aquavit.

A comprehensive list of British Columbian distilleries can be found HERE.
