To be an eligible voter, you must be:

  • a Canadian citizen

  • at least 18 years old on election day

  • able to prove your identity and address

You can check online to ensure you are registered to vote in Canada, or to register ahead of time if you are not. You can also register at the time of voting in person.

For Lions Bay residents, advance voting will take place in person April 18-21 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Rockridge Secondary School, 5350 Headland Drive, West Vancouver, right across from Caulfeild Shopping Centre. You can also vote at any Elections Canada office in the country until April 22 at 6 p.m. Find your closest location HERE.

To vote by mail, you must apply prior to April 22. Details can be found HERE.

Monday April 28 is Election Day, and the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Lions Bay Community Hall, 400 Centre Road.

You have several options for proving your identity and address:

  1. Show one of: your driver's licence or any other card issued by a Canadian government (federal, provincial/territorial or local) with your photo, name and current address

  2. Show two pieces of ID, both of which must have your name and at least one must have your current address. Examples can be found HERE.

  3. Declare your identity and address in writing and have someone who knows you and who is assigned to your polling station vouch for you. The voucher must be able to prove their identity and address, and can only vouch for one person.
