Meiklejohn states intent to continue with projects following reinstatement
Last week, The Watershed reported the March 22 issue of a disciplinary notice by the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) regarding Russell B. Meiklejohn Architect AIBC and Millenia Architecture Corp.
AIBC is the regulatory body for the profession of architecture in the province, and Meiklejohn is the architect of record for both the Lions Bay Beach Park and Klatt Building upgrade projects.
The consent order, issued in December, 2023 and cited in the discipline notice, states that Meiklejohn was investigated with respect to non-compliance with the AIBC’s Continuing Education System (CES) requirements, ending in June, 2022.
Meiklejohn contacted The Watershed today, and made the following statement:
"Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the article regarding my AIBC Membership.
Due to a number of circumstances, including an ongoing health situation, I have been remiss in fulfilling my Continuing Education Requirements with the AIBC.
There are no outstanding fees or fines, and no suggestion of any issues regarding professional conduct.
I am completing the outstanding LUs (learning units) this week, and once reinstated look forward to continuing to work on behalf of the Village of Lions Bay in the completion of the Beach Park Revitalization and Dale Klatt Public Safety Building Renovation.
